Google Chrome ver 4.0 was released yesterday. A lot many new features were incorporated in this new release. In addition to inclusion of much awaited extension system, Google has made it 400% more stable since it was released last year (source Google). It also has its own bookmarks synchronization, but being primarily a Firefox user I wanted means to synchronize my bookmarks with Chrome. Then, I came across Xmarks, an extension for both Firefox as well as Google Chrome.
It synchronizes the content between both the browsers with Xmarks server. In Firefox it comes with additional feature of password synchronization, but in case of Google Chrome, its still a beta build.
Installing Xmarks is very simple task in both the browsers.
For Firefox go to addons page for Firefox.
Click on Add to firefox button to add Xmarks extension to firefox.
For Chrome go to extensions page for Chrome.

Click on Install button to install the extension.
Once the extensions are installed the browser will restart. For Chrome we need to click on the Xmarks extension button to get a menu.
The same menu appears when Firefox restarts.
Click next to create an account.
Enter details and get started.

Once account is created in one browser perform the same process in other browser but log in using the previously created account this time.
Once installed in both it synchronizes bookmarks in both the browsers with the Xmarks server in turn synchronizing bookmarks among them. Its an effective tool when user uses multiple computer systems as it can be used to do synchronization among various terminals.
